Fausto's: The Best Italian Cuisine in Budapest

With it's rich culinary traditions and ongoing revolution in the field of gastronomy, Budapest is one of the hotspots on the world map of haute cuisine. One the best and most beloved restaurants in Budapest, Fausto’s has had a reputation for excellence since opening in 1994. Named after its Italian-born owner, Fausto Di Vora, Fausto’s is an epicurean luminary on the Budapest dining scene, serving sophisticated modern Italian cuisine with a contemporary twist, using only the best Italian and domestic organic produce. Having lived in Budapest for more than twenty years, Fausto is often referred to as the Italian chef with a Hungarian heart! He and his chef Giorgio Chavicciolo are dedicated to creating the finest seasonal à la carte and 4-7 course tasting menus in town with dishes such as Shrimp Tartare with eggplant, fresh ricotta and pesto, Broccoli Filled Ravioli with Lobster, and the most exquisite Mediterranean Fish Soup that I have ever tasted. Sleek and stylish with tables dressed in fine white table linens set simply with modern wine stems, contemporary flatware, and an impressive selection of quality Hungarian and Italian wines from which to choose, Fausto has purposely kept his restaurant and menu small in size, to ensure that guests enjoy the optimum dining experience: perfectly prepared food and service in a relaxed, tranquil and beautifully appointed space. I am enormously grateful to my friend Shirley who shined her culinary spotlight on this Budapest gem, as her son is great friends with Fausto, who upon hearing of our "family ties", came over to our table and greeted us with great warmth, making our evening all the more special.
