Paul Wysmyk: The Creative Heart of an Artist

An accomplished artist, culinary dynamo and one of my dearest friends, Paul Wysmyk reimagines his visual world with each exciting new body of work he creates. Wysmyk’s artistic output emerges from a rigorous practice of drawing and painting. His ability to fabricate narratives and animate spaces using material culled from sketchbooks, personal photographs, and memory is masterful and unique — the summation of remembered moments, photo-captured events, and recorded images synthesizes into wonderfully imaginative representations of the world. His current exhibition entitled 'Remnant,' which opens at David Kaye Gallery in Toronto this week, brings together an energetic selection of works on paper, canvas and wood panels that are heart-warmingly colourful, creative and compelling. The show runs from February 5 - March 1, 2015, with a 'Meet the Artist' reception from 2:00 to 4:00pm this Saturday February 7th. If you want to explore Toronto's art scene, but no idea where to go? Well look no further.
